What are the symptoms of trichomoniasis?

Trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection (STI), often presents with itching, burning, redness, or soreness of the genitals, discomfort with urination, and unusual discharge. However, many infected individuals (especially those born with a penis) may not show symptoms . Trichomoniasis is typically treated with a single dose of an antibiotic such as metronidazole or tinidazole. Both partners should be treated simultaneously to prevent reinfection .
