What is the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality?

Bisexual means attraction to more than one gender, while pansexual means attraction regardless of gender. There is overlap between the two, and some individuals may use both terms. Some say that pansexual as a defintion fits under the umbrella of the bisexual definition since attraction regardless of gender fits under attraction to more than one gender. Some people have erroneously been led to believe that "pansexual attraction includes transgender and non-binary people and bisexual doesn't," but the defintion of bisexual does not inherently exclude attraction to transgender or non-binary people, and much has been written about bisexual not being binary. In fact many non-binary people identify as bisexual.
